What is Olares?

Olares is an open-source personal cloud operating system designed to empower users with local AI capabilities and private, self-hosted services. It allows you to transform your hardware into a powerful AI home server for running cutting-edge AI models, managing personal data, automating your home, and hosting decentralized apps.

What’s new

This release brings essential fixes and refinements to enhance your Olares experience. Here’s a look at the key improvements and bug fixes in Olares 1.11.8:

  • Authelia cert fix: Preventing system inaccessibility This update addresses a critical issue where an expired Authelia OIDC (OpenID Connect) certificate could render your Olares inaccessible after a system update or reboot. We provided a manual fix last week. Now, with the integration of #1517, this release offers a permanent solution to ensure stable access and robust reliability.
  • Enhanced app development & deployment:
    • #1285 improved the back-end communication for Studio; With #1318, Studio now displays the deployment status directly in the header bar, providing clearer feedback during app deployments.
    • #1305 fixed issues with pull image progress reporting, ensuring more accurate visual updates during app installations.
  • Improved download and content management:
    • #1290 addressed download failures for popular platforms like YouTube and Twitter, ensuring your content can be reliably saved.
    • #1327 fixed a discovery feed synchronization bug in Wise, providing a more consistent content browse experience.
  • System and UI Stability:
    • #1289added an initialization container for the files-server, enhancing the reliability of the Files app.
    • #1320 improved the data refresh logic via sockets after network reconnections, leading to a more responsive desktop experience.
