We’ve improved the Olares onboarding experience, but setup is only the beginning. Olares CLI and Agent Skills already make it possible to manage Olares through an AI agent, yet getting started still means choosing a third-party agent app, installing the CLI, and signing in manually.
With 1.12.7, Lares removes those extra steps. It is the official AI assistant for Olares, giving you a direct way to ask your system to get things done.
What Lares can do
Lares comes with Olares CLI and the relevant Agent Skills built in. You do not need to install the CLI, sign in separately, or configure an additional API key to connect Lares to your Olares.
Through these skills, Lares can check system status, install and manage apps, work with files, and investigate problems. It uses Router to access models and can work with the files and knowledge already stored on your Olares.
More than system management
With access to your apps, files, knowledge, and models, it can also help organize information, research a topic, and carry out multi-step tasks—working more like a personal assistant for your Olares.
Get started
Lares will come preinstalled on some new devices. Existing users will be able to install it from Olares Market.
Once Lares is installed and a model is available through Router, open it and start with a simple request.
What would make Lares useful to you?
Think about the Olares task you repeat most often. Would you want Lares to handle system checks, app management, file organization, troubleshooting, or something else? Tell us in the replies.
